Brand new Cape Town Airport

A few years back, well 2004 to be exact I experienced my first trip to Cape Town, albeit for only 2 days on business. I was super excited to see The Mother City, and experience the Cape Town holiday that everybody had been telling me about.
As I landed at the airport, my first thought was “Where is the airport terminal?”. About 2 hours before, I had taken off from an uninspiring Durban International Airport and was expecting a tourist mecca. Except I landed in Cape Town International Airport. It was, to say the least, well disappointing. It was small, cramped, boring and a few other choice words I don’t really want to mention. I was so disappointed. Fortunately, Cape Town itself changed that attitude very quickly.
But now, little did I know, and that’s probably because I was living under a Durban rock with some Durban Poison, Cape Town International Airport has had a facelift, nay, a complete revamp, nope, not even that. They have completely rebuilt the airport and judging by the photos supplied by Seth Rotheram from 2OceansVibe.com, it looks incredible.
Well done Mother City. I cannot wait to be with you someday.
