Sitting here at Go Coffee in Hillcrest eating this amazing, no incredible and very fresh Chocolate Croissant, I think back to all the experiences I have had with past visits to other coffee places. I think back to all the poor service, cold coffee, pretty mundane menu choices and food as bland as Gordon Brown. And then it suddenly dawns on me. Go Coffee is absolutely, without a doubt, none of the above.
I was greeted by 3 very friendly faces and was given a quick run down of the menu (which is far from mundane). My choice, finally, was the regular cappuccino and a chocolate croissant. What a choice! The cappuccino is fantastic and the croissant? Well, Megan Fox has nothing on the beauty and elegance of this fantastically tasteful morsel. The chocolate inside I am pretty sure is Lindt.
Just had a little chat with Hayley (host and manageress) about Go Coffee and where it has come from. It’s very new, very ‘now’ and I love the fresh approach they have.
GO Coffee is tucked away in a very lift and airy corner of the Mr Price Home Hillcrest entrance. Despite the hubbub of Mr Price shoppers it is surprisingly quiet and tranquil. You needn’t whisper nor need you shout at the person across your table. I love it. And when you are done, an entire Mr Price Home store awaits you. Or the other way around, having a relaxing cup after shopping your husbands money away.
All in all, a fantastic experience and I wish Go Coffee all the best. My girlfriend and I are looking at starting a high class coffee shop in the future and will definitely say the Go Coffee forms the basis of what we are looking to do. So congrats Go Coffee, we can learn so much from your excellent service.
Here is a little information about Go Coffee from their Facebook Group…
We here at Go Coffee believe that whether it’s a delicious creamy cappuccino, a smooth delectable latte or a strong energizing espresso, coffee will always be the perfect compliment to any moment.
More than just coffee! It’s about the buzz, the vibe, the energy. It’s about the aroma of the freshly ground beans, the sound of hissing steam with funky tunes playing in the background. Our baristas bring to the mix an exciting and educating experience while they chat and interact with people. And yes it’s also about the taste of a fantastic cup of coffee made with a special blend of 100% arabica beans.
Go Coffee are also very active in the Social Networking arena with their Twitter account and Facebook group and here. Keep it up guys and you will be the best, if you aren’t already.
They even have an awesome mobile cafe too …
Go Coffee’s mobile cafe experience caters for any number of people in any setting, indoor or outdoor. Large outdoor events have included the Miller Marquee at the Vodacom Durban July and the Mr Price Pro in Ballito. Not only do we serve up great fresh coffee, we also offer a range of delicious Danish pastries, Belgian croissants, muffins and other tasty delights. Go Coffee will undoubtedly add that something special to leave a lasting impression on your guests and customers alike.
I for one am definitely going to be a regular, as soon as they open one in Gateway, close to my office.

I absolutely agree with you. This little coffee shop serves the most awesome coffee, excellent food and I always look forward to the atmosphere. I would love to see more of them – they really put the extra effort in. I think I am their most regular regular.

Yeah,it was my first time and I am well impressed with them. It’s just such a pity that I don’t live up that way anymore. Have a cappuccino for me sometime. Shot.

I’m writing this from my table at GoCoffee, I’m here pretty much every day. Best coffee in Durban

Drew, right now, I am envious. I really wish there was one here in Gateway. There is VidaE Cafe, but it simply doesn’t compare.

I don’t know what all the fuss is about! I am of the opinion that Go Coffee is the only place in Durban that sells real coffee.

Agreed. Great coffee and excellent chow. I enjoy sitting and relaxing while waiting for the traffic to calm down before I head off to work.
