Leave alone the Zebra, where do I start?
Perdeberg Wines have this great competition running online at the moment. By guessing the clues correctly which I assume will allow one to find The Missing Zebra, you can win yourself a case of Perdeberg wine, isn’t that novel?
Well it would be, if I fully understood how the competition actually works. I found a question on their homepage, answered it and got a 10% discount coupon to buy their wine online. Does that mean I’m eligible to win? Are there more clues?
But over and above that, I am really impressed at how much publicity Perdeberg wines are getting from their web marketing. In 2008 they created a Facebook application that allowed users to propose toasts to each other, and those winning specific categories based on the number of toasts they received, the number of toasts they made and how many people they got to join would receive a case of Perdeberg Wine. A friend of mine, in fact two friends of mine, managed to win themselves over 100 bottles of wine, EACH! Many a dinner party has been had since.
But this truly is a marvel of embracing social media to promote an age old tradition. Well done Perdeberg!
